INTERCEPTED: Vernon Forrester's Killer Caught on Tape?

Sunday, August 2, 2009

It's still hard to believe that boxer Vernon Forrester was murdered just two short weeks ago. But in what may be critical evidence for the Atlanta Police Department & those interested in knowing the identity of his murderer, it seems that there is video surveillance footage of the actual killer set to be fully released this Thursday.

From the New York Daily News:

Atlanta police will release video footage possibly as early as Thursday morning showing the attacker who eventually shot and killed former boxing champion Vernon Forrest in a robbery at a gas station in Southeast Atlanta on Saturday night, according to Lt. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta police. The footage was spliced together from "three or four different cameras" positioned at local businesses and an apartment complex in close proximity to the gas station where Forrest was eventually shot in a hail of bullets.

"We're still tracking down leads and we plan on releasing video in the next couple of days and possibly as early as (today) that shows a potential suspect," Lt. Meadows said. "We want to get the video out to different Web sites because it's possible that some of the attackers are not from the metro area here."

Truly crazy and unfortunate for him.
