Here's my summary:

First team

DE Osi Umenyiora fresh off of knee surgery and missing an entire season appears to be picking up right where he left off. Along with the entire defense.

This morning...it was all about defense. S Kenny Phillips came away with two INT's from the offense & QB Eli Manning. LB Antonio Pierce stopped RB Danny Ware behind a lead blocker. LB Brandon Kehl almost had an sack on Manning. And CB Aaron Ross made the defensive play of the game when he stepped in front of WR Steve Smith for another easy INT.

3 INT's for the defense in a 2 hour time period and while I'm happy for the defense I'm annoyed with the offensive performance.

Eli had a rough start to say the least. With WR's Hixon, Moss & Smith on first team he's going to have to figure out how to get these guys the ball. They're short WR's (average height) is 6'0" and he no longer has the luxury of the 6'5 guy out there to go up and grab the ball...so work it out please.

The back-ups

QB Rhett Bomar connected with WR David Tyree on a back should throw.

QB David Carr came through with some nice completions early.

WR Mario Manningham possesses a lot of natural football instinct, making a nice play after he and Ross slipped coming out of a break.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw showed his speed against Umenyiora who is also pretty quick on a flip play to the left side.

And it looks like C Adam Koets can't seem to shake his fumbled snaps problem. He tallied up 5 in the morning practice alone. SMH

The rookies

So far no mention of WR Hakeem Nicks. Which I'm a little confused about but oh well.

WR Ramses Barden won the test of wills when he held onto a ball between he and CB Aaron Ross.

CB Stoney Woodson broke up a pass intended for WR Shaun Bodiford.

LB Clint Sintim looked good in pass coverage as he broke up a quick out from QB Andre Woodson to TE Lee Vickers (whom I forgot the Giants signed, lol)

Afternoon practice begins at 3:15. Stay tuned....
