**Dr. Conrad Murray confessed to drugging Michael Jackson.**

No sooner than I post a positive story about Michael Jackson, I receive shocking and devastating word regarding his personal doctor, Conrad Murray. Apparently, he has allegedly confessed to administering the drug Propofol to the King of Pop which may have resulted in his death, authorities are saying. Although we all have speculated this to be true, this is the first time police are corroborating what we all thought.

Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com that Dr. Murray told LAPD detectives two days after his death that he administered Propofol to the singer hours before he died. Police suspect Dr. Murray simply wasn't paying attention when Jackson's heart stopped beating. Authorities also say that Dr. Murray may have actually fallen asleep during the time the drug was administered and may have awakened to find the singer already dead from heart failure.

The medical community considers it reckless to administer an IV drip of Propofol without an EKG on hand to monitor the patient. The EKG sounds an alarm when the patient's pulse drops too low. There was no EKG found in Jackson's rented mansion.

Dr. Murray is currently being investigated on manslaughter charges.

XIKhai and I are outraged and stunned by this new development. This is all too crazy! I’m at a lost…wow…Now, everyone is speculating whether it was done intentionally with (Kevorkian-style) or without MJ’s consent or was it completely accidental. All I know is he had better watch his back, because if this rings true and he is charged, some crazy MJ fans will have his head (literally). Regardless, Murray was wrong for administering an anesthetic drug without proper medical equipment and should definitely be brought to justice in the role he played in MJ’s death.

ESSENCE.com received the following statement directly from the publicist for Katherine Jackson's attorney L. Londell McMillan:

Mrs. Jackson continues to serve as her son's most trusted and loyal advocate even in death. In an effort to gain more facts concerning a suspicious circle of relationships, unnotarized will and an undisclosed trust, both drafted in 2002, which grant the executors and trustees thereunder very broad powers, Mrs. Jackson has sought formal discovery of the temporary special administrators of her son's estate. The Court has made clear that it will consider Mrs. Jackson's demand for expedited discovery, and all other serious issues relating to the estate, on August 3rd. We are confident that at that time the court will allow Mrs Jackson full discovery.

To be clear, neither Mrs. Jackson nor her representatives seek to re-write her son's will. Her concerns are and remain the welfare of her son's surviving children, the preservation of his legacy and the protection of his estate. No one should deny Mrs. Jackson the right to help preserve and administer Michael's legacy especially those whom had almost no contact with Michael for numerous years prior to his death.

Through all of this, she is the only one who has her son's BEST interest at heart! GO Mama Jackson!

Michael Jackson's "Moonwalk" Memoir Re-Release

As details of Michael Jackson’s untimely death unfolds as well as his family’s battle over his children and estate, the life of Michael Jackson and everything he offered to us will be immortalized through various tributes to him. And we here at XI want to make sure his memory continues to live on in a positive light amidst of all the negativity. Well, with all that being said comes news from the Associated Press that Michael Jackson’s 1988 autobiography, "Moonwalk," will be re-released this October. As some may see this as another opportunity for others to cash in on MJ’s death (Have you all seen the infomercials for commemorative wall hanging blankets with his picture on them?! *blank stare*), I see it as a very intimate look inside of who MJ really was: a gracious, sensitive, vulnerable, often tormented (by his past & the media), remarkably talented, extraordinary individual.

"Moonwalk" was initially released in 1988, one year after the release of his 7th album, Bad. The book was named after MJ’s most memorable signature dance move of the same name, which has become the most recognizable and well-known dance move around the world. In his autobiography, MJ discusses his show business friends, girlfriends, appearance over the years, his thoughts on plastic surgery, his upbringing, and his ultimate rise to fame. "Moonwalk" written by MJ himself with help from original editor, Shaye Areheart who worked closely with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, was published in secret by Doubleday due to MJ’s overwhelming demand and public interest. Kennedy who also served as editor at Doubleday wrote the book’s introduction. After "Moonwalk’s" debut, it shot to #1 on the Los Angeles Times and New York Times best seller’s lists, and selling approximately 500,000 copies in 14 countries within only a few months of it’s release.

Ken Tucker, of The New York Times, stated that if the book had been written by anyone else, it would be dismissed as "an assiduously unrevealing, frequently tedious document." However, he adds that "these are precisely the qualities that make it fascinating." (via Wikipedia)

It seems plans for the reissue of MJ’s memoir came days after his death. As reported by the AP:

Within days, (MJ's literary agent) Joy Harris had forwarded the e-mails (from publishers) to Jackson's attorneys and soon the real discussions began. "Moonwalk," originally acquired by then-Doubleday editor Jackie Kennedy and published in 1988, will be reissued in October by Random House Inc. with a first printing of 100,000 copies and a new introduction from a Jackson friend who has not been identified. The book is also coming out in Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

Jackson's representatives wanted to act quickly. On July 23, executors of the singer's estate filed papers in a Los Angeles court stating that book deals should be reached "as soon as possible" in order to capitalize on "the notoriety surrounding Michael Jackson's unexpected death" and ensure that "profits for the Estate will be maximized."

According to Harris, several U.S. publishers were interested in the memoir but — assuming the price was right — both Harris and the lawyers who had handled Jackson's book wanted to stay with his original editor, Shaye Areheart. Her Harmony imprint at Random House will handle the release.

"She was professional with Michael and she was respectful," Harris, who declined to offer financial details for the new edition, said of Areheart. "She had worked for Jackie a long time and she was comfortable around celebrity."

I will be copping a reprinted copy to add to my collection the DAY of its release. (Actually, I wonder if Barnes & Noble is accepting reservations now? *ahem* Great birthday gift idea for I AM XI *ahem*) Since it was released when I was much younger and I wasn’t aware of any autobiography he had written at the time, I am extremely interested in getting insight of who MJ really was through his own words. And I would love to see this promotional spot as a tribute to MJ for his memoir re-release, since this was what he wanted originally.

Jacqueline Deval, then the book's publicist and now publisher of Hearst Books, said she had just one conversation with Jackson (about the book). She could not persuade him to give interviews, but he was very eager to discuss a possible promotional spot.

"He had this fabulous idea for a TV commercial for the book," she said. There would be music playing and a camera would show his feet, his steps moving to the beat. And then a major celebrity friend, such as Elizabeth Taylor, would say something about Michael Jackson. Then the camera would pan up to his knees, and there would be another celebrity talking about him. And so on, until we finally see his face. I think it would have been fabulous, but it was way beyond the budget of any book publisher."

Yeah, I can definitely picture that! And maybe the mystery celeb writing the current introduction will be featured in this spot as well! Got my fingers crossed… Here's ALSO hoping they will put my all-time fav Moonwalker on DVD and re-release it! (Do you know how difficult it is to transfer an old beat-up VHS to DVD? I'd rather buy a new one! And preserve my VHS in it's original box in my collection.)

Lastly, although the financial details have not been released, proceeds from the book will go to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, and to various charities supported by the singer. This is touching... I'm happy to see that the reprint of his memoir is not just for profit.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding the young man in dark shades sitting with the Jackson family at Michael Jackson's memorial service. Omer Bhattiv sat between Rebbie Jackson, the eldest Jackson sibling, and Prince Michael II. He's 25, a Norwegian rapper and rumored to be Michael Jackson's secret son.

Michael reportedly told close friends several years ago that Omer was the result of a one-night stand he had with a Norwegian fan, Pia Bhatti, in 1984.

"He was the King of Pop," Pia told The Sun after the singer's death. "But for us he was so much more."

Her Pakistani husband Riz said, "Make what you like. I don't want to discuss anything."

Omer met Michael in 1996 during the HIStory tour, when he impressed the King of Pop with his dance moves. He later spent some time at Neverland, performed with Michael and took his MJ tribute act around the world.

The Houston office of Dr. Conrad Murray was raided last night by DEA agents. I fear for this mans life if he's charged with manslaughter. Seriously dude run and hide!

Katherine Jackson apparently wants a say in guiding Jackson's estate. Which should really get interesting for her.

And to set the record straight on all of the RUMORS about autopsy reports on MJ. As of right now only the "preliminary report" is out...the official autopsy result could take another two more weeks before they're released.

Michael's Jackson death is being investigated by the LAPD as a homicide according to TMZ.

The NY Post is reporting that Debbie Rowe has decided to drop the custody battle and is reportedly being paid 4 million dollars for these efforts. *Blank stare*

However, People Magazine is reporting that Rowe's lawyers are denying that a settlement agreement has been reached. I'm so sick of this ugliness!

Unemployment numbers are not being accurately reported as they don't include people with part time jobs who are still in search of full-time jobs.

With soaring unemployment numbers and foreclosures at an all time high...many are wondering what the Obama administration is waiting for. I love President O but I'm wondering too...

MJ & Me: My Memories of the Greatest of All Time

I have so many memories of Michael Jackson… Just like everyone else I would dance and sing along to ALL of his ground-breaking music videos. Unfortunately, I wasn’t privy to have been old enough when the Thriller video premiered, so I’m not one of those people that rushed home after school to watch it and sat there as "it changed my life." I wasn't old enough to even know the impact that video would have on popular music and network TV music stations. But for me, it all began with Bad when my love for R&B & Pop music took a hold of me...

MJ’s Bad dropped in August of 1987, and I wasn't quite 6 years old yet, but this man had me mesmerized! I remember having his cassette tape and playing it in my little Sony Walkman tape player; I played that tape OUT and I still own that tape to this day! A couple of years ago, when I was moving out of my parents’ home and packing up my things. My cassette tape storage unit still hung on my bedroom wall but my parents wanted it and everything else packed up or gone out of my room when I moved (I think my Dad was planning to turn it into an upstairs den or something…so long to all my stuffed animals!). So one day I went to my Mom, with tears in my eyes and some of these tapes in my hands including Bad, saying “what am I going to do with these?” I can’t take them all with me but I can’t just throw them away…” (Gotta love Moms)…she said, “Pack them up in plastic tubs, put them in the attic, and I’ll keep them there until you get a house and attic of your own…” I couldn't have been happier. Even though I have my iPizzi, I still cherish my tapes and CDs to this day! ESPECIALLY my Michael Jackson tapes! I could NEVER get rid of them or throw any of them away.

MJ’s Bad Tour concert...the year: 1988, the month: October…shortly after I turned 7, my Dad had gotten 4 tickets on the fly for my birthday! All I remember about where we were seated was that there were some kind of bars in front of us, so I’m thinking we were pretty close. But, what I remember most was how I sat with my parents, 2-year-old brother, and cousin watching MJ’s digitized feet walk across a screen on stage. I vividly remember thinking “woooooow…how’d he do that?” Then, fireworks, lights, camera, and ACTION! MJ jumps out of that screen and on top of it in his black and gold military jacket complete with gold chains and all studded out. He just stands there and the crowd screamed like nothing my little ears had heard before. Still leaning and gazing through those bars trying to hold onto my program book, I was in complete awe of this man. He just stood there in his black shades, for what seemed like eternity in my small world, taking in all the screams and applause. The music started and the rest is pretty much a blur but I remember enjoying the music and dancing for the next 3 hours or so. Yep, he performed for about 3 hours, all by himself! MJ didn’t have “opening acts.” We walked in, took our seats, and my account of what I remember was what it was. This was my VERY first concert experience and I’ll never forget it. I LOVE attending concerts because of this concert right here. In my top 5 concerts, you know I have to rate this one as #1, and I've attended many a concerts.

AH! OH, I cannot forget, my Moonwalker VHS! I think I watched that tape daily! After seeing that concert, I was hooked! This is where my family and I sat around the TV watching its premiere on television. But, wait, not only was he premiering Moonwalker, he premiered his 7th Bad single and my all-time favorite, “Smooth Criminal.”

Oh no, but it wasn't only a video, it was a 39-minute short film complete with gangsters, drugs, guns, magic, and robots! And most of all music! I absolutely LOVED IT! And I mean, MJ was scary as a gangsta, but one fact remained he loved the kids (in my best Martin Lawrence impression). He protected them all from the bad guys trying to sell drugs to kids like me! Ok and I know I wasn’t the only one who wanted to be the ‘Katie’ who he saved in the film and the ‘Annie’ he sang about in the song. But, the best part…whew, my God…MJ dancing and doing the ‘lean move!’ He was the originator of “Lean Back” but MJ did it leaning forwards. And with NO strings or cords! I swear that has to be my ‘moonwalk’ moment! This man literally defied gravity! We ALL tried to do it...and fell right the hell over, kissing the floor, first face! MJ's secret: It was all in the shoes…his magical (patented) shoes…

MJ & Me: the memories…Well, you know I had to pulled all those tapes out since his death: Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory. The insert booklets are all bent on the corners, some torn in the creases, where I would pull it out of the case and try to learn the lyrics to his songs, half understanding what they meant. (Through MJ’s “ow’s” and “shamones,” you know you couldn’t understand him either! I was a little kid for goodness sakes!). My program book is in even worst condition, pages are falling out, but all of them are still there in page order sequence. (Does anyone know how to properly preserve an old program book?) I have VHS tapes that I’m sure XIKhai can attest to seeing in my coffee table drawer…many of which are recordings of MJ’s videos: “Black and White” (the crotch-grabbing version), “Scream” (My brother would be MJ and I was Janet), “Earth Song” (I choreographed parts of some African ballet dance routine in my basement to this song, until I dang near sprang my ankle doing some hopping move and gave up – DON’T you ever ask me to perform it!), just to name a few.

But, aside from my memories, even as a young child not knowing much of what he was singing about, I understood MJ. I understood and felt his energy…his showmanship…his grace on stage. He was a consummate performer who was and still remains unmatched! Michael Jackson was a phenomenon all his own. He did it all! He sang, composed, produced, arranged, played instruments, danced, choreographed, I mean, the list goes on and on. He was limitless in what he gave us as his talent…his gift. He was a gift. He revolutionized American pop music as we know it today. Many of today’s vocal styling comes from Michael Jackson (think: the “vocal hiccup” and those airy, breathless tones we hear nowadays). Michael Jackson was a forward-thinker; his creations were so far out of the box that no one has been able to rival them yet! He’s incomparable and unparalleled! No ONE will ever equal to his likeness let alone his greatness. He stands alone and for me and many others, there will NEVER be another. He is beyond compare…The supreme king of our generation…in the words of Berry Gordy: “He is simply the GREATEST entertainer who has EVER lived.”

Rest in Heaven, Michael. Your legacy and work of art will forever live on. We will always “remember the time” and you will never be forgotten. XI will continue to keep your memory alive…We thank you for touching our hearts in ways you may never know…

In case you didn't already know this man that was muffled out by the media for his flaws was a humanitarian and a giving person. MLK's children gave a great tribute about how he called Coretta Scott King before her death and made her smile despite her condition.

Sheila Jackson Lee spoke about the difference MJ made by working on behalf of of the US. His told story has never been told! And that he NEVER STOPPED GIVING! Which is why the House of Reps stopped and held a moment of silence on June 25th for the American icon Michael Jackson.

The ENTIRE Jackson family jumped up to console Usher after he nearly collapsed shaking the families hands. Whoo lawdy this is hard for alot of people!

Smokey Robinson just shared how MJ broke down the meaning to 'Who's Lovin You'. At the young age MJ sang that song he impressed Smokey because he knew what it was all about. And how fitting it was then and now. When you lose someone you treated badly as soon as they're gone you want them back to tell them how great they were. The world who treated MJ badly are now hurting the most for not recognizing his greatness.

Not sure who that child was...singing Who's Lovin You but that boy can sing...that boy good.

Ok so I'm not a We are the World fan AT ALL. All of that kumbaya mess burns my nerves...sorry but true!

Jermaine, Marlon and other siblings and family members paying tribute to Michael. So sweet seeing them honor him like this. Talk about it! What MJ went through in having to sneak to the store in hopes of not being noticed. They loved him so much!

Living off the Wall Weekend: Usher Walks off Larry King Live!

In a stand-up move Usher Raymond reportedly walked off the set of Larry King Live when the conversation about Michael Jackson went negative. Mr. King, other guests and "experts" are among a growing list of journalist and news networks dead set on highlighting the negative aspects on the tail end of MJ's life, instead of respecting his family, children and fans who are still heavily mourning his unexpected death on Thursday June 25th.

I've always liked Usher but now I LOVE HIM for taking a stand and not participating in the media's desire to taint MJ's legacy!

Here's Usher's statement to Larry King before walking off the show:

“I realize this is your platform, but a family has lost a son, a brother, a father and they are still mourning the loss, all the other stuff will eventually come out but I can’t believe we are sitting here talking about addiction at this point!”

I feel like Usher's actions should start a MOVEMENT so I have chosen to stage a one woman boycott starting now of CNN, CNN.com, Fox News, Entertainment Tonight, E Online & MSNBC until further notice for such disgusting coverage of MJ. There's absolutely NO RESPECT for the dead anymore and it's a true shame! So thank you Usher for waking us all up...

TheYBF.com is reporting that the BET Awards will have most of their performances dedicated to MJ in some way or another. Can.Not.Wait.

Here's the statement from BET Executive Stephen Hill:

"This weekend’s awards will be heavily focused on Michael Jackson and his legacy:“This will be a show heavy on Michael Jackson’s memory. I think what you’re going to find is that acceptance speeches for awards will have nothing to do about the artists themselves, but about the influence that Michael Jackson had on them,” Hill said Thursday in a phone interview from Los Angeles.

“A show like this takes a good six months to put together, so when something happens three days before, it’s going to be done fueled by emotions,” he said.

Hill said many of the celebrities who will appear on the show — including Beyonce, Wyclef Jean, Maxwell and Ne-Yo — contacted BET to see how they could help prepare a tribute.

“Within minutes after its happening, we had calls from different artists — all asking what can they do” and how could they pay tribute to Jackson, he said."

UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.

UPDATE: We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says "he is not doing well."

TMZ is reporting that Michael Jackson has died!

HOWEVER THAT REPORT HAS NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED!
UPDATE: We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hill home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.

CNN is STILL reporting that the Pop singer is still in the hospital. No major news organization has confirmed his death.
